SPANDAN
Social Promotional Activities of National Development Agency for Education, Health, and Nature, Pune [SPANDAN] is an non-profit organization working in Pune district since year Feb, 2000. An organisation is working in the field of Environment and Ecological development, Social Development, Empowerment of Women, Rural Development, Health and Sanitation, Training for Rural Health, Quality in Education, protect and survive the rare species of birds which comes from Europe, Pakistan, Brahmadesh and other places of India in winter season for breeding at Bhadalwadi, Tal: Indapur, Pune.
Objectives of Organization:
1) To work for the environment and ecological balance with implementing the developmental programmes like plantation, social forestry and its retain.
2) To create awareness and protection about those trees, species of birds etc which are now going to rare.
3) To motivate urban and rural people as well as students for the purpose of plantation.
4) To implement various developmental activities for increase agriculture and allied production and its innovative technologies and methods in following fields:
a) To develope tiny industries
b) Programme for survival of trees
c) Fisheries
d) Animal husbandry
e) Dairy and milk produce
5) To create awareness about health among urban and rural areas.
a) Health camps
b) Blood donation camps
c) General health check up camps
d) Awareness about HIV AIDS
6) To implement various development schemes for sustainable development for village.
a) Women empowerment with SHGs
b) Youth development
c) Water shade development
7) To implement the programmes for quality in education and its entire development
8) To provide the vocational training centre for youth and women
Current projects implementing by “SPANDAN”:
1) GREEN EARTH Project:
Location: Bhadalwadi Reservoir, Bhadalwadi, Tal: Indapur, Dist: Pune
SPANDAN has implementing the project namely Green Earth at Bhadalwadi Reservoir since Dec, 2000. The main objectives of this project are
a) Plantation and protection of trees.
b) To stop its cutting
c) To establish “Paryavarn Rakshak Samitee” at village level
2) Save Birds Save Nature:
Location: 1) Bhadalwadi Reservoir, Bhadalwadi, Tal: Indapur, 2) Bhor 3) Haveli4) Mulshi, Dist: Pune
a) Since year 2000 SPANDAN has taken initiatives for protect rare species of birds and its study at Bhadalwadi lake cluster. At this place approx. 4,00,000 birds of 56 species has been protecting by the organization.
b) Painted Stork is one of the most rare bird is protected by organization at Bhadalwadi cluster and now its result is India’s largest heronry is established at Bhadalwadi.
c) In this project 56 species of birds are going to studied by SPANDAN.
3) Dyandeep:
SPANDAN has implementing this project at Bhor Tal; Bhor, Dist;Pune for needy and poor students. In this project SPANDAN has been providing the uniforms to the students every year.
4) Sanitation Campaign:
This project has been implemented at various locations in Pune district. These are historical places namely Torana, Rajagad, Sinhgad, Purandhar, Vichitragad, Rayareshwar Temple (shramadan activity) etc.
At these forts various activities were implemented by SPANADAN. These activities are:
a) Bann Plastic
b) Fort Sanitation programme
5) Gram Shakti:
Main pupose behind of this project is to make available knowledge to the rural people regarding agriculture innovation, researches, govt. schemes.
a) to develop library at every village
b) to available all magazines and books regarding agriculture, organic farming, SHGs schemes and vocation training
6) SANSKAR Training Centre:
SPANDAN is running the training centre for students which provides the training of singing and music at Bhigwan, Tal: Indapur, Dist: Pune.
